I haven't seen activity on this board in years, which is a shame. As the old people in charge of the investigation die out, I think there is a responsibility to look at this case with fresh eyes. "Making a murderer" and "serial" have served to highlight what a one track investigation can do to hamper justice. We are talking about Oklahoma law enforcement in the 70's, probably not the most astute bunch in a crowd. The fact that people involved in this case have gone on to serve promenient positions of authority in the state is terrifying and a clue to why this state is one of the least educated in the nation, you can't argue facts and statistics. I hope to give my semi educated thoughts. This was not random or opportunistic in my opinion and training. The gag serves to knock that out. This was personal.
